It wasa big challengeto improve it.
A highlyupgraded Airwave Research and Developmentteam needed a goodlook “out of the box” to find new ways for glider improvement.
Intensive research in para glider aerodynamics were performed as wellascalculations towards less drag, higher lift and higher stabilityusing new computer programs and incombination withnumerous hours offlight testing in all kind of differentflyingconditions.
The result is the Sport 5.
Compared to the Sport 4 and also Sport Competition the SPORT 5 has abetter glide ratio and a lower sink rate. Italso has a lower lift offspeedon take off. Handling is nice and overall flightcharacteristics are easierand more straight forward. It climbs verygood in thermals and cuts threw theair with great performance
