This Arched Patterson Garden Pergola will allow complete vine coverage from the ground up on the sides. We use 2 arched arbors then connect them with square steel tubing rods from the ground on one side then up – over – then back down on the other side. The last few pictures show this pergola without some of the connecting rods but the pictures are more clear to show you how this arbor is constructed.
This structure is 8′ tall and 7′ 10″ tall on the inside. At the widest part of the top it is 70″ with the inside at 59″ wide. The length will be 11′ but if that is too long it will be easy for us to shorten the 8′ connecting rods to make the arbors closer together.
Structures are easy to assemble for the do-it-yourself crowd, as you can see in our pictures and this short video clip.
