The Barebones Beacon 297 is a rechargeable hanging lantern in stamped steel and copper, with a 3-watt CREE LED and water-resistant housing.
Copper alongside the steel is what distinguishes this from the plain bronze Beacon. The two are close in specification, so the finish is the deciding factor, and copper develops a patina over time rather than staying as it left the box.
The water-resistant housing covers rain and being left out overnight. That is worth having on a lantern that hangs outdoors, where the alternative is bringing it in every evening or replacing it after a wet season.
Output runs 220 lumens for about 3 hours or 30 lumens for up to 200. A rechargeable 18650 battery and a 30-inch charging cord are included, in a compact 3.75 by 5-inch body. Explore more lanterns.
