The Novelty Cutlery Moonshine Jug Folder has a 0.88-inch satin stainless blade in a nickel silver handle cast in the shape of a moonshine jug, closing to 2.25 inches.
Novelty Cutlery has made figural pocketknives since the 1930s, when knives shaped like animals, bottles and tools were common souvenirs and advertising giveaways. The moonshine jug belongs to that tradition, and closed it reads as a charm rather than a knife.
At 0.88 inches the blade opens envelopes and cuts thread, and does not pretend to more. Nickel silver is a copper alloy rather than actual silver, chosen because it casts fine detail crisply and resists tarnish better than brass. The whole knife hangs on a keyring or sits in a coin pocket without weight, which is how a figural folder is meant to be carried rather than worked. Explore more Folding Knives.
