The Off Grid Tools Truckers Friend is 18.25 inches overall with a matte steel head, a 3.5 inch curved axe edge and a fiberglass handle, combining a hammer, nail puller, pry bar, wire twist, debris remover and tire chain hook.
This is a truck and emergency tool rather than a woodsman’s axe. The curved axe edge cuts, the hammer face drives, the nail puller and pry bar force, and the wire twist and chain hook handle jobs specific to a rig. Carrying one item instead of six is the entire argument, and in a cab there is no room for six.
The ice and debris remover is the detail that gives away who this was designed for, since clearing a frozen trailer or a blocked mudflap is a trucker’s problem rather than a camper’s. A fiberglass handle will not rot, swell or split the way wood does when a tool lives in a truck box year round. Explore more camping tools.
