The Okapi Keyring Lock Folder has a 4.5-inch tumbled 1075HC steel clip point blade with a brown wood handle and a fitted keyring, closing to 5.5 inches.
Okapi knives have been made to the same pattern since 1902, first in Germany and now in South Africa, where the design became one of the most widely carried working knives on the continent. The ring lock is the mechanism: a metal ring at the pivot is turned to block the blade, holding it open or closed with a quarter turn and no springs to fatigue.
1075HC is a plain high carbon steel that takes a keen edge and comes back with a file, chosen for a knife meant to be maintained rather than replaced. At 5.5 inches closed with a 4.5-inch blade, this is a large folder sized for real work rather than pocket carry. Explore more Traditional Knives.
