Joint-Specific Wrap
Therabody RecoveryTherm Hot and Cold Vibration Knee
A knee is an awkward shape to treat. Flat pads slide off it, ice bags fall away when you bend, and most of the joint line sits where a strap will not hold. This device is a neoprene wrap built for that shape, with the thermal surface and the vibration motors already positioned inside it.
Three treatment programs are built in: cooling, heating and contrast. Three vibration modes run alongside them or on their own. The battery lifts out and is shared across the RecoveryTherm range, so a second battery from another device in the family drops straight in. Run time depends on which program you choose: 90 minutes in hot, 60 in cold, 30 in contrast.

Four things define this wrap: the programs, the vibration, the contact surface and the fabric. Here is what Therabody publishes about each, and where their explanation ends and ours begins.
?Contrast therapy for enhanced reliefContrast is the reason a device like this exists. Switching a knee between cold and heat by hand means two ice packs, a hot pad and a timer. The wrap does it on one program, on the joint, without unwrapping between phases. Contrast is also the shortest program on the battery, at 30 minutes.30 minutes per session?3 modes of vibration, alone or combinedThe three vibration modes can run on their own or on top of a cooling or heating program. That is the practical difference from a plain thermal wrap: the same garment can deliver a vibration session with no temperature at all, which is a different thing to reach for on a stiff morning.Independent or combined?More precision. More effective results. That is Therabody’s heading for Cryothermal Technology™, their name for the thermal system in this device. The published mechanical detail is specific: a thermal alloy surface in direct contact with the skin, which is what carries the temperature change into the joint. No temperature figures are published to go with it.Thermal alloy, direct skin contact? The power of far infrared light, woven into the fabric of our designThe wrap is neoprene combined with germanium-infused fabric. Therabody’s account is that germanium fabric emits far infrared light and helps regulate temperature. We are reporting that as their explanation. The neoprene is the part doing the visible work: it holds shape around a bending joint.Neoprene and germanium fabric

Around the Joint
Shape, controls and strap
Design
Built around the shape of a knee
The wrap is contoured, so the thermal surface stays against the joint through a bend and the strap does the holding. Neoprene gives it the stiffness to keep that shape and the give to close around different leg sizes, which is how a one-size product covers a joint that varies as much as the knee does. Germanium-infused fabric runs through the construction alongside it.
- Material: neoprene and germanium-infused fabric
- Flexible neoprene strap closes the wrap around the leg
- Contoured to hold the thermal surface against the joint
- One-size-fits-all design, with no measurement chart published
- Cryothermal Technology™ with a thermal alloy contact surface

Three programs, three vibration modes, one panel
Cooling, heating and contrast are the three built-in treatment programs. Vibration is a separate axis with three modes, usable on its own or layered onto either temperature program. Each program has its own run-time envelope on a full battery: 90 minutes for hot, 60 for cold and 30 for contrast, which reflects how much work the device is doing in each. Everything is selected on the wrap, with no phone in the loop.
- 3 built-in treatment programs: cooling, heating and contrast therapy
- 3 modes of vibration, for independent use or combined with the other treatments
- Battery life: 60 minutes in cold mode
- Battery life: 90 minutes in hot mode
- Battery life: 30 minutes in contrast mode
- No app or Bluetooth pairing published for this device

The strap, the battery and the case
The strap is flexible neoprene and it is the only sizing adjustment on the product, because there is one size and no chart of leg measurements to check yourself against. The battery is the other piece worth knowing: it lifts out, it is compatible with other RecoveryTherm products, and it carries a 90-day limited warranty of its own while the device carries a full year. A soft case, a USB-C cable and a power adapter come in the box.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Therabody publishes no temperature figure for this device in either °F or °C, for the hot side or the cold side, and we are not borrowing a number from a different product to fill the gap. What is published is the programs, the vibration modes and the run times, and those are on this page in full.It depends on the program: 90 minutes in hot mode, 60 minutes in cold mode and 30 minutes in contrast mode. Contrast is shortest because the device is doing both jobs in the same session. Therabody does not publish a charge time or a battery capacity.Yes. Therabody’s specification is explicit that the 3 modes of vibration are for independent use or combined with other treatments. So the wrap can run as a vibration sleeve with no temperature, or vibration layered onto a cooling or heating program.Therabody sells it as a one-size-fits-all design with a flexible neoprene strap, and publishes no measurement chart to check yourself against. If your knee or thigh sits at an extreme of the range, get in touch before ordering; we would rather answer that question than have you return the wrap.Therabody states the removable battery is compatible with other RecoveryTherm products. In practice that means a spare bought for one device covers the other, which is the difference between a 30-minute contrast session and two of them back to back. They are two separate cover periods: 1-year limited warranty on the device, 90-day limited warranty on the battery. That is how Therabody publishes it, and it is worth noting before you buy, because the battery is the consumable part of a device like this. One of the three built-in treatment programs, alongside cooling and heating, running the two temperatures in alternation on one battery cycle of 30 minutes. Therabody’s heading for it is “Contrast therapy for enhanced relief”. The relief part is their claim; the alternating program is the specification.Their list covers knee rehabilitation and recovery, range of motion, tension and aches, pain and inflammation, and blood flow. That is Therabody’s list, in Therabody’s words, and we have not repeated it as fact anywhere else on this page. If you are recovering from a knee operation or a diagnosed injury, the clinician managing it should be the one to say whether hot, cold or contrast belongs in your programme.Cryothermal Technology™ is Therabody’s name for the thermal system. The published detail worth having is the contact surface: a thermal alloy in direct contact with the skin, which is what makes the temperature change reach the joint. Therabody does not publish how that alloy is heated or cooled.Neoprene and germanium-infused fabric, with a flexible neoprene strap. Neoprene holds the contour around the joint. Therabody’s claim for the germanium fabric is that it emits far infrared light and helps regulate temperature, which we pass on as their statement.Therabody publishes no weight and no dimensions for the RecoveryTherm Knee. We would rather tell you that than estimate. What we can say is that it is a soft neoprene wrap with a removable battery, and it ships with a soft case sized for it.No app or Bluetooth integration is published for this model. All three programs and all three vibration modes are selected on the device.Therabody lists it as FDA Registered, and that is the exact wording we use. FDA Registered and FDA Cleared are different designations, and other devices in the Therabody range carry the other one; we do not swap the terms. If the knee is your problem, the wrap wins on fit: it is contoured for the joint and adds three vibration modes the Cube does not have. If you want one device for a shoulder one week and a calf the next, the Cube straps anywhere and weighs 345 g. Both run cooling, heating and contrast programs. The RecoveryTherm Hot & Cold Vibration Knee device, a removable battery, a soft case, and a USB-C charging cable with a power adapter. Nothing else is required to run it.
