Zinsser 01500 is a water-based drywall primer designed to seal and prepare new drywall for paint. This primer is formulated to avoid raising the nap on new drywall surfaces, a common problem with traditional primers that can leave the surface rough and uneven. It seals tape joints and preps the surface for topcoat application.
The water-based formula makes cleanup simple with soap and water, eliminating the need for harsh chemical solvents. Its low-odor composition makes it suitable for indoor projects. The primer dries quickly with minimal odor, allowing you to move forward with sanding and painting in about one hour.
